Three evacuation centres closed
KOTA KINABALU:  

Three temporary evacuation centres (PPS) for flood victims were closed at noon Sunday. The Sabah State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said in a statement that the centres closed were in Kota Belud, Sipitang and Matunggong.

“However, the number of flood victims in Kota Marudu had increased to 2,757 from 789 families compared to 2,470 victims from 518 families at noon today,” the statement said.

According to the statement, all the victims were accommodated at 12 PPS which had been opened for the past three days.

Meanwhile, in the sub-district of Paitan, the number of victims had risen to 83 from 22 families at two PPS compared with only 48 victims from 11 families at noon.

In the district of Pitas, the number of victims remained at 27 from eight families at two PPS. - Bernama
