Chelsea transfer EXCLUSIVE: Harry Kane would be ‘perfect’ for Blues - Holloway

TOTTENHAM striker Harry Kane would be a “perfect” replacement for Alvaro Morata.

Harry Kane BEST goalscorer in the world says Southgate

That’s the view of EFL manager Ian Holloway with Morata expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the month.

The Spaniard has struggled since moving to Chelsea in the summer of 2017 with Atletico Madrid favourites to take him back to Spain.

Olivier Giroud has also found the going tough since his move from Arsenal 12 months ago.

Gonzalo Higuain is expected to join Chelsea on loan as a replacement for Morata, with a permanent deal likely at the end of the season.

But Holloway believes Kane would be the best bet for Chelsea with his brilliant all-round skills.

“If they had Harry Kane, he’d be perfect for them because everything sticks and he scores all sorts of goals,” Quest EFL pundit Holloway told Express Sport.

“But they dominate the ball so much so they need someone who can do things with their feet. All the other teams have got more to choose from.

“[Phil] Foden couldn’t get a game for Man City the other night but when you look at who they’ve got you understand why. Chelsea don’t really have that.

“I don’t see their squad as that strong.

“It’s very difficult for the type of genius like [Eden] Hazard to do 38 games in a row and be brilliant every time.

“Sometimes you need something different when he’s not buzzing, you need some ugly goals sometimes.

“All of Chelsea’s goals are beautiful, it can’t be that. You’ve got to scrap some out sometimes.”

While Holloway believes Kane would be perfect for Chelsea, he thinks Higuain will be a hit.

“Gonzalo Higuain could be a monster for Chelsea,” the former QPR and Blackpool boss added.

“I think he’s got total class written all over him and he’s got enough experience to own that shirt.

“That shirt weighs a tonne. The centre forward shirt at Chelsea weighs a tonne.

“You’ve only got to walk round the ground and see the legends there. If I was a centre forward for them I’d be thinking: ‘Good God, I’ve got to be as good as them!’

“It’s a hell of a heavy shirt to wear but I think that’s the key that’s missing and it’ll be frustrating Sarri.”
