MANILA—Authorities on Friday released traffic advisories in preparation for next week's Traslacion of the Black Nazarene.

Millions of devotees are expected to flock to Quiapo on Wednesday, January 9, to join the event in the belief that the image of the Black Nazarene has miraculous powers.

The Manila Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit said the blessing and replica procession will be held Monday, January 7.

The following roads will be closed from 11 a.m. onwards — Southbound lane of Quezon Blvd. (Quiapo), from A. Mendoza/Fugoso to Plaza Miranda, and the westbound lane of España Boulevard from P. Campa to Lerma St.

RE-ROUTING OF VEHICLES:

• All vehicles coming from España Blvd. intending to proceed to Roxas Blvd./South Pier Zone/Taft Ave. shall turn right to P. Campa, straight to Fugoso St., to point of destination.
• All vehicles intending to utilize Quezon Blvd. coming from A. Mendoza St. shall turn right to Fugoso, left to Rizal Ave. to point of destination.

Meanwhile, the vigil or "pahalik" of the Black Nazarene is on Tuesday, January 8. The following roads will be closed at 5 a.m. — Katigbak Drive, South Drive and Independence Road in Manila.

RE-ROUTING OF VEHICLES:

• All vehicles coming from Bonifacio Drive and P. Burgos, intending to utilize Independence Road, shall go straight to Roxas Boulevard to point of destination.
• All vehicles coming from Roxas Boulevard and TM Kalaw, intending to utilize Independence Road, shall go straight to Roxas Boulevard to point of destination.
• Vehicles going to Manila Hotel and H2O Hotel shall have one lane-access at Katigbak Drive

The following roads will be closed 10 p.m. Tuesday in preparation for Traslacion: — Katigbak Drive and South Drive (one lane accessible to Manila and H2O Hotel), northbound lane of Quezon and McArthur Bridge from Bonifacio Shrine onwards, and Taft Avenue from Ayala Blvd. to Bonifacio Shrine.

On Wednesday, the day of the Traslacion, the following roads will be closed at 12 a.m.:

• Stretch of Mc Arthur, Jones and Quezon Bridge;
• Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to TM Kalaw St.;
• And both lanes of Quezon Blvd. (Quiapo) will be closed to traffic, from A. Mendoza/Fugoso St. and España Ave / P. Campa St. for southbound and from Taft Avenue/Ayala Blvd for northbound.
