Doing drywall repair is a pretty typical DIY project, but if you’ve got a larger hole, sometimes it can be time-consuming and messy.

But 3M has put together a large-hole kit that makes that repair really simple.

It comes with a plastic piece that you curl up and put into the hole. Then when you pull the straps with adhesives on either side, it attaches to the back of the drywall. Now you’re ready to use your joint compound.

This kit comes with a fiber-reinforced joint compound and a six-inch broad knife, so all you have to do is apply several layers of that, let it dry, and then use your sanding block and sand it.

Once that’s done, all you have to do is prime it, and then you can paint it.

Now, this repair patch is just as durable as any other portion of that drywall, so you can use nails or screws on it anytime you need to.
