Stupidity and weird incidents have a tendency to go together, and that’s certainly the case in this dashcam video.
Taken in New York, the short clip shows a Chevrolet Suburban pull over to the side of the road and then attempt to make an illegal U-turn.
The driver appears to be oblivious to the oncoming traffic as they make the turn as two vehicles are approaching from the other direction. As luck would have it, one of those vehicles was a police officer in a Chevrolet Tahoe.
This make for a bit of an awkward situation, as the Suburban driver stops in the middle of the road and blocks both lanes of traffic. The officer isn’t having any of this and he points his hand out the window to tell the driver to get back into their lane. He then sits there for a few seconds until the Suburban slowly takes off.
The video ends shortly thereafter, but it appears the Suburban driver got lucky and managed to avoid getting ticketed for impeding traffic or attempting that illegal U-turn. The driver should be thankful for this as state’s department of motor vehicles notes moving violations add a minimum of two points to a driver’s record. If drivers rake up 11 points in an 18-month period, their license may be suspended.
