MiniChimera Game Studio has announced Blackout: The Darkest Night, an indie adventure game that's set to come to PC, Mac, and Linux in 2019.

In Blackout: The Darkest Night, you have suffered a terrible event that has caused you to completely forget the events of the last few days. You'll have to piece together the past in a choose-your-own-adventure style system while hoping to keep your sanity. The game is inspired by the classic dark works of H.P. Lovecraft while mixing in elements from slightly more modern spooky tales like Twin Peaks.

The player finds themselves on a darkened street in the city of New Wenders with no idea how they got there.  Something dark is lurking in the shadows and you'll have to decide whether you'll try to uncover it or leave all of the bad stuff behind. A teaser trailer has accompanied the announcement of the game - give it a look!

The game is split into several chapters. Each of the chapters takes place in a different location. You'll be able to move through each of the chapters in an order determined by your choices.

Aside from your choices affecting the story outcome, players must manage three stats: Courage, Sanity, and Fitness. The levels of these three stats will affect which paths are opened or closed to you. They will also affect which of the game's items you'll be able to use.

For the moment, further details on the game are pretty light. If you like the premise and you want to pre-order Blackout, you can do so on Itch for $4.97 (a 17% discount). Alternatively, you can pop over to the game's Steam Store page to add it to your wishlist. Blackout: The Darkest Night will be coming to PC, Mac, and Linux sometime in March of 2019. And if Blackout doesn't float your boat, there's always plenty of other spooky games to check out.
