One arrested after leading deputies on a pursuit

COSHOCTON - The Coshocton County Sheriff's were able to apprehend a driver, who fled on Monday afternoon.

A road patrol deputy advised he was attempting to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Second Street in the city of Coshocton around 4 p.m. Monday, according to a press release.

Moments later, the deputy advised the vehicle was fleeing, and he was in pursuit. Several units entered the pursuit, which went across our county and ended in the Wills Creek area, about 13.5 miles and 14 minutes later, as two cruisers suffered minor damage.

The suspect, Garrett E. Emerson, 27 years old from the West Lafayette area, was taken into custody on outstanding warrants, which include Breaking and Entering. Additional charges are anticipated after the incident has been reviewed by the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office.

The incident remains under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
