LONDON — Twitter’s head of communications in the UK, Sam Hodges (pictured), is joining Netflix as director of content communications across the EMEA region. Hodges had been at Twitter since 2015 and was previously head of communications for BBC Television. His appointment follow’s Netflix hiring Rachel Whetstone as CCO from Facebook this summer.

LONDON — Taylor Herring has won six awards at the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) National Awards, including the automotive, consumer, technology and CSR categories and the agency campaign of the year trophy. Hope&Glory won three awards for media relations and digital and new media, as well as being named large consultancy of the year. The Romans and Pegasus picked up two awards each, and Talker Tailor Trouble Maker won the small consultancy award. FleishmanHillardFishburn leaders Jim Donaldson and Ali Gee won consultancy heads of the year, and Barry Leggetter, former head of measurement organisation AMEC, won the Mark Mellor Outstanding Contribution Award.

LONDON — Telecommunications and internet service provider Zen has appointed Red Consultancy as its retained PR agency in the UK after a competitive pitch. The account will be led by Red’s technology MD Jenny Fieldgate. The brief is to raise brand awareness amongst consumer and business audiences in the UK and help drive new customer sign-ups to help Zen reach its aim of doubling revenue (currently at £71 million) in the next five years.

PARIS — Matthieu Elkaim has joined the executive committee of Ogilvy Paris as chief creative officer, after seven years at BBDO. Elkaim has more than 100 awards under his belt, including from Cannes Lions, Eurobest, One Show and D&AD for brands such as Volkswagen, Playstation, Nike, Mercedes-Benz and La Redoute.

LONDON — Earned media software and services company Cision has opened a new global innovation and research centre to focus on the development of technology for the communications industry. The Cision Innovation Lab, with bases in New York and Berlin, will build, test, and launch technology that helps communicators unify data, processes and analysis. The Lab will also serve as a testing ground for integration of acquired technology and will be led by David Barker, Cision’s president of data and innovation.

LONDON — Ketchum has formed a partnership with CDP (formerly known as Carbon Disclosure Project), an international non-profit that encourages companies and governments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests. CDP and Ketchum will develop and execute a communications programme with the aim of increasing the investors, companies, cities, states and regions that use disclosure systems to manage environmental impact, including in Germany and France.

LONDON — Interel has promoted Katherine Morgan to deputy managing partner and appointed William Wallace as a senior director from ACPO Worldwide. The move follows the departure of current deputy managing partner Steve Edwards, who is joining charity Living Streets as director of policy and communications.

LONDON — Gambling operator The Rank Group has hired David Williams as its new director of public affairs for Rank brands including Grosvenor Casinos and Mecca. He joins from Britbet, where he was director of communications. He also spent 13 years at Ladbrokes, including a stint as director of media.

LONDON — Investis has rebranded as Investis Digital after its acquisition of performance marketing agency ZOG Digital in October 2017. Investis, founded in 2000, was initially an investor relations specialist before expanding into corporate, digital and strategic communications.
