The Russo Brothers Say Avengers 4 Is Their Best Marvel Movie Yet

In a recent interview with Deadline, the Russo brothers revealed that they think Avengers 4 is their best Marvel movie yet.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger cliffhanger ending than what Avengers: Infinity War left us with. Seriously, not only did the villain win, but half of the universe is now dead with dangling plot-lines aplenty!

What did Doctor Strange mean when he said this was the only way? Is everyone trapped in the Soul Stone? And where the heck is Hawkeye!? These are just a few of the questions that’ve kept every Marvel fan up at night since April. But besides all that, there’s also been the nagging fear in the back of our minds that Avengers 4 may not be able to live up to all the hype and offer up a satisfying conclusion to Infinity War.

Well, if you find yourself fearful of that, you’ll be pleased to know that the Russo brothers believe that it might actually be their best Marvel movie yet. Speaking to Deadline in a recent interview, here’s what the directors said:

“You know, we’re very proud of it. I think ultimately Avengers 4 may be our best work for Marvel. I think we’ve grown with every movie that we’ve made there. We’ve grown with the characters. We’ve grown with the cast. As filmmakers we’re very happy and very excited with the movie.”

Whoa there. Remember, this is the team that’s already made three instant classics for Marvel in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. And when they were asked about where this project ranks in regards to those other ones, they more or less responded: “hold our drinks.”

Considering that they’ve already killed off half the universe, the Russo brothers clearly don’t mess around, so if they say that Avengers 4 is their best work for Marvel yet, then there’s really no reason to doubt them. And while it’s certainly exciting to hear that they’re so confident in the pic, it’s only going to make the wait until it arrives next May feel that much longer.
