All Nippon Airways (ANA) is rolling out changes to its Premium Economy. Starting from April 1, 2019, traveling period, ANA will enable ANA Mileage Club members to reserve seats in Premium Economy with ANA award tickets. Furthermore, ANA will allow members to upgrade from Economy Class to Premium Economy by using ANA mileage and upgrade points as of April 1, 2020, traveling period.

Currently, ANA Mileage Club members are only able to use the award tickets to fly First Class, Business Class and Economy Class. Members are also only able to upgrade to First Class and Business Class using mileage and upgrade points. ANA now has Premium Economy seats on 59 aircraft flying to 30 routes and the customer's demand to book award reservations and upgrade to Premium Economy has been on the rise. Providing members these additional options will allow them to further customize their itineraries.

"ANA believes that traveling should always be a pleasant experience, which is why we've sought to expand seating options to give passengers the greatest possible array of choices," said Takeshi Inada, CEO and President of ANA X Inc. "Our vision for air travel revolves around consumer satisfaction, and we aim to continue taking steps to make flying with ANA as effortless as possible."

By increasing available award booking and upgrade options, ANA said it hopes to continue setting the global standard for customer service and in-flight convenience.

So who decided to put 9 seats in a row in a 787 and 10 in a 777?

And this is supposed to be evidence of good service?  Of valuing their customers.

Agree, ANA do pack the seats in in Economy.

Ever since Virgin left Japan, and JAL had financial problems, ANA saw fit to jack up its fares, from becoming one of the cheaper airlines to the most expensive. Thanks, but no thanks. And do their airmiles still expire after three years? I have several airmile cards from many airlines, but I now only use those whose points have no expiry date as long as you remain active within three years of the previous transaction.

Great Airline. Reliable, Punctual and Clean with a great choice of Schedules. Very nice to have more choice to spend all my miles.
