Shimoda expands its adventure camera bag system adding NEW Explore 30L Backpack, Large Core Unit & Additional Accessories

Building on the successful Kickstarter campaign that was funded in just 30 hours, Shimoda, the new standard for adventure photographers expands its popular Explore camera bag system with the new Explore 30L backpack.

The new Explore 30L delivers professional-grade performance in a more compact size. Ideal for photographers and filmmakers who have smaller gear to carry but still require an exceptionally durable and comfortable backpack.

The Explore 30L provides carrying comfort with its adjustable harness straps with three size options and a new removable belt system, making the Explore 30L an ideal backpack whatever your torso height.  Ensuring a custom fit for every photographer creates a simplified shooting experience while minimising physical fatigue.

The intuitive design of the Explore 30L ensures that essentials like food, water and a smartphone are always within immediate reach. The adjustable harness with its bearhug-like fit makes sure the pack’s weight doesn’t put pressure on a user’s shoulders but is distributed to their hips and front torso evenly. The new, removable belt feature lets users convert from a weight distributing mountain pack into a minimalist daily commuter or urban explorer, making the Explore 30L just as comfortable discovering a new city, or shooting a local event, as it is scaling mountain terrain.

Founder Ian Miller ‘Everything we do is for our community of adventure photographers and content creators. The new Explore 30 is a direct response to requests for a more compact daypack for their daily adventures as well as their more ambitious and far-reaching ones.  We will continue to add additional components and accessories to ensure the Explore Modular System leads the industry in versatility, durability and usability.’

As well as a new pack, Shimoda expands the Core Unit options to enable users to refine their configuration further with the introduction of a Medium Mirrorless and Large DSLR Core Unit, which can carry a camera with battery grip and lens up to 300mm.

The Explore 30L holds any of the four Shimoda Core Unit sizes, which also fit the existing Explore 40L and 60L within the collection.  The Explore 30L also accommodates the Small, Medium DSLR and the new Medium Mirrorless and Large DSLR size Core Units. Photographers can double their configuration options with two or more Units (with the exception of the Large), by stacking and shifting how the Units are placed. The Shimoda modular system allows for rear and side access configurations for ease and flexibility.

The Explore 30L backpack offers space for a 13” laptop, along with multiple panel openings for quick access to your gear.  The use of water-resistant nylon material in a double-sided Carbonate Ether PU coating give it an extremely durable resin finish that keeps the pack light without compromising strength, ensuring photographers really can take this pack everywhere.

The new Shimoda Stuff Sack Kit brings another level of organization to packing. The kit comes with 3 different sized lightweight, mesh storage sacks. These are designed for soft goods that need easy, convenient and breathable organization for the inside and outside of Shimoda packs and rollers.

Following feedback from adventurers, we are also pleased to announce the introduction of some much sort after accessories.

A new Core Unit Divider Kit delivers greater camera organization options. Each kit features narrower, horizontal and vertical folding dividers which allow users to pack smaller lens setups in tighter configurations. Alsoadded to the kit is a sealable divider pocket for storing batteries and other small loose items in the Core Unit.
