Star Wars exhibition May The Toys Be With You has attracted more visitors to New Walk Museum than any other.

With only days until the exhibition is closed 73,406 people have visited the exhibition in 102 days.

This is an average of 720 visitors a day - four more than the museum's most successful exhibition Fearless Foxes - which attracted 100,208 people but ran for 140 days.

If you compare the two exhibitions' performance over the same time period the Star Wars exhibition is the clear winner with 73,406 compared to Fearless Foxes' 65,234 over three weeks.

A Leicester council spokesperson said: "We’re delighted with the response we’ve had to May The Toys Be With You.

“It’s an exhibition that has appealed across generations, with children, their parents, and their grandparents all enjoying a nostalgic look back at the vintage toys, action figures and iconic posters that bear the Star Wars' name.

“The exhibition continues until Sunday (28 October), so if you haven’t been to the exhibition yet, make sure you pop in this weekend.”

New Walk Museum has now opened its Egyptian Galleries which shows off a whole host of artifacts and historical information.
