Patrolman Joseph Black of Cleveland was sworn into the Warren Police Department Monday morning at City Hall. 

Black was active duty in the Army for four years. He’s served as a combat medic for the National Guard for three years.

He is also a certified EMT.

This is Black’s first job as a police officer.

“It’s something I always wanted to do you know, um growing up especially once I got out of the military I’m like, yea I think this is what I wanted to transition to,” he said.

Black says he has family in the area and is excited to get out there and help people plus learn more about the community.
