Purdue football: 5 facts from the Boilermakers' last win against a top-5 team
WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana — It had been 19 years since Purdue football beat a top-5 ranked team before Saturday's 49-20 win against No. 2-ranked Ohio State.
Purdue's previous top-5 win came with a 52-28 win against No. 5-ranked Michigan State on Oct. 16, 1999.
That 1999 Purdue team was ranked No. 20 and led by Drew Brees, who threw for 509 yards and five touchdowns in the game.
