Televangelist: My Prayers Defeated the Demons Holding Down Brett Kavanaugh

Why was Brett Kavanaugh confirmed to the Supreme Court?

One reason and one reason only: Televangelist Billye Brim held back the demons meant to stop Kavanaugh. (Obviously.)

She explained all this yesterday to (a very sympathetic) Jim Bakker:

“We were the guests of Sen. Grassley and Sen. McConnell,” Brim said. “We went in the back door and they gave us secret little passes and all this. They put us in a holding room and both of those senators came out and Sen. Grassley said to us just before he left the room, he said, ‘Now, I believe in the power of prayer.’ He said, ‘I know there are a lot of you in this room that do [too].’ He said, ‘Don’t pay a lot of attention to what’s going on the floor, you keep your voices lifted to heaven.’”

“Now that is someone in authority giving us authority to pray,” she marveled. “They were the two senators most active in this whole thing — Grassley and McConnell — they’re the two that had the authority, I would say, and they passed it over to us. And oh my goodness, we’re sitting up there and I had my little hankie, looking down at the senators and my mouth is moving; I’m taking authority, I’m telling that devil what he can’t do. I’m taking authority over those demons because the young people down there, and the leaders, were definitely affected by demons.

It’s telling that she prayed at the request of Republican senators who encouraged her to do everything she could… other than listening to Dr. Christine Blasey Ford or Democrats questioning Kavanaugh. Why listen to her testimony or his angry rant? Just trust the GOP.

Prayer isn’t the reason Kavanaugh got confirmed. But Republicans convincing gullible people that this was a celestial battle between good versus evil certainly galvanized white evangelicals enough not to give a damn about what an alleged sexual assault victim had to say.

By the way, Brim also blamed demons for heading up the Women’s March in 2017. It’s almost like demons are to blame for anything and everything she doesn’t like.
