NAACP to hold candidates forum
FREMONT - The Fremont Chapter of the NAACP will host a Candidates Forum from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Fremont Middle School, 1250 North St. This is a free, public event.
Candidates for state and local elections will be invited. Each candidate will be asked to speak for a maximum of three minutes and to take questions from the audience after a brief intermission. Each candidate will also have one minute for closing remarks at the end if they desire. A social time with refreshments will follow the program.
Anyone wishing to speak on the ballot issues are welcome under the same format.

Halloween party to benefit pets in need
CLYDE - Another Chance Sanctuary will host its Halloween Party Fundraiser starting at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Clyde VFW Hall, 847 W. Maple St. Proceeds benefit the shelter's animals.
Tickets are $10 each or $30 for families or groups of four or more. Dinner buffet is at 6 p.m. There is a costume contest, but costumes are optional. Activities include basket raffles and a psychic reader. There is also an "In Spirit" ticket for those who cannot attend and wish to win door prizes. Cost is $5. Call 419-559-0443 to purchase.
Lindsey firefighters to flush hydrants
LINDSEY - The Lindsey Volunteer Fire Department will be flushing fire hydrants starting at 5 p.m. Oct. 17. Water may be discolored after flushing begins.
Craft and Tack Bazaar set in Fremont
FREMONT - A Holiday Craft and Tack Bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 18 by Riders Unlimited Inc. at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds, 712 North St.
Admission will be $2. Vendors are still being added.
Magruder Auxiliary hosts book, gift fair
PORT CLINTON - The Magruder Hospital Auxiliary will have a book and gift fair in the hospital lobby from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 25 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 26.
