State rankings: Vero Beach is ranked fourth in Class 8A in The Associated Press state poll, third in Class 8A and 10th in the Sunshine State Top 25 by FloridaHSFootball.com; Centennial received the most votes among teams that did not make the AP top 10 in 8A.

Worth noting: This is only the fifth meeting between area teams with 5-0 or better records ... Vero Beach has four streaks on the line: a 48-game regular-season winning streak, a six-game roll against Centennial, a 14-game district winning streak and a 22-game run against area teams ... Centennial has won six consecutive games dating to last season, its longest streak since a 10-game roll over the 2002 and 2003 seasons ... Centennial is 0-4 against Vero Beach at South County ... Centennial's defense has allowed only 12 points in five games and tied a school record with three shutouts ... Worth noting: Winner gets a share of the district lead ... Martin County has won three consecutive Martin Bowls for its longest streak in the series since 2000-2002 ... Martin County has lost six of its past seven games dating to last season while South Fork has dropped 11 of 13 ... It's the first time since 1996 that both teams enter Martin Bowl coming off a shutout loss ... Worth noting: Treasure Coast has won the past three meetings, including 21-14 in 2015 (won on last play of the game) and 38-31 in triple overtime in 2016 ... The Titans have scored more than 50 points twice this season and their 203 points are only 44 shy of the regular-season school record set in 2007. They scored 135 in nine games a year ago ... Fort Pierce Central QB Lance Bianchini threw two touchdown passes to Justin Ortiz last week ... The Cobras have scored 51 points in four games, a 12.8 average.

Jensen Beach got third-quarter touchdown runs from Colin Fadden and Da'Quan Gonzalez to overcome a 14-3 halftime deficit against Bayside ... Javian Tomlinson had two touchdown runs, Shea Spencer threw a TD pass and ran for another, and Corbin Gibson and Alvin Barriner had touchdown runs against Okeechobee ... Sebastian River is 17-15 all-time against teams from Martin County.

Worth noting: Heritage has outscored opponents 93-48. The Panthers have won three consecutive games following a season-opening 21-13 loss to Lake Mary ... Okeechobee has allowed at least 42 points in four consecutive games. The only other time that happened was in 2004 ... Jalen Pryor had interception-return and kickoff-return touchdowns against Port St. Lucie ... Rontavius Farmer and Nigel Scott had two touchdown runs apiece as Heritage rallied from a 17-13 third-quarter deficit against Eau Gallie.

Port St. Lucie running back Montavious Yearby needs 123 yards to reach 1,000 for the second consecutive season. He has eight rushing touchdowns ... PSL QB Tyler Stone has passed for 537 yards and five touchdowns. Receivers R-land Honore and Donald Rutledge have combined for 34 catches, 440 yards and five touchdowns ... Suncoast RB Aaron Adams has 561 yards and six touchdowns in five games.

Rankings: Seffner Christian is ranked fourth in Class 2A in The Associated Press state poll.

Last game: St. Edward's lost to Jupiter Christian 47-7; Seffner Christian defeated Carrollwood Day 34-7.

Series: First meeting

Worth noting: St. Edward's has been outscored 123-28. The Pirates have scored one touchdown in each game ... St. Ed's QB Michael Mangieri has three touchdown passes ... The Pirates have rushed for only 120 yards in four games ... On defense, DB Will Sternberg has a team-high 32 tackles while DB Ian Horvit has 30 ... Seffner Christian has outscored opponents 164-27. Seffner QB Isaiah Knowles has passed for 605 yards and nine touchdowns. The Crusaders average 6.4 yards per run. ... Michael Trigg has a team-high 15 catches for 217 yards and five touchdowns.

Nation forfeits

Illness and injuries forced Nation Christian Academy (1-4) to forfeit Friday's game against Foundation Academy.

According to NCA director of football operations Charlie Brown, the Eagles would have had only one senior player available.

Ironically, the Eagles are coming off a forfeit win from Citrus Park Christian last week.

Foundation (6-0) had outscored opponents 152-32 in five previous games.

Nation Christian's next game is its home debut Oct. 5 against Keswick Christian at Sportsman's Park in Port St. Lucie.
