Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand Humilates Gutless GOP Senate Judiciary Committee Cowards

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) told Republicans that if they are going to have their women staff question Christine Blasey Ford, they need to step down.

Sen. Gillibrand said on MSNBC‘s All In with Chris Hayes, “I think that’s an absurd idea. If they literally can’t do their jobs as Senators on the Judiciary Committee and have to ask female staffers to do their jobs for them, they need to step down from the committee. It’s their job.”

Gillibrand was responding to a HuffPost report that, “Three Democratic sources familiar with the committee’s planning told HuffPost that this proposal was under consideration, although so far it’s not clear whether Blasey and Kavanaugh will testify. The office of Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the chairman of the judiciary panel, did not return a request for comment.”

The Old Republican Men On The Judiciary Committee Are Cowards

Republicans want to smear Christine Blasey Ford, but they don’t want to be held accountable for their cultural crime against women, so they cooked up this stupid scheme to force their female employees to do the questioning for them. These men are supposed to be United States Senators, but they are willing to abandon their sworn duties to help a corrupt president get a nominee on to the Supreme Court.

The plan itself was a disgrace, and Sen. Gillibrand correctly humiliated these Senators for even thinking that such a scheme would be acceptable. If the Senators want to question Blasey Ford, they should do it themselves in front of the entire nation, and be fully aware that women are the majority in this country, and their actions will be remembered when voters go to the polls in November.
