Inter winger Ivan Perisic shared his delight in an interview with Sky Sports following what he labelled ‘a very important victory,’ over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League.

“It is a very important victory, we know what matches we have ahead of us now: let’s think about PSV, then Barcelona. We have three points, we want to get past the group stage, the road is long and we have to work and think match by match.”

“We did well, fought to the bitter end and proved we have character. After their goal they tried everything to get another but instead we won.”

Perisic concluded the interview by diverting his attention to the next match against Sampdoria on Saturday.

“It was the first game in the Champions League for many, it was not easy, even for me after six years. The important thing is that we have won, now we have to concentrate on Sampdoria, after that we will see where we stand.
