FREMONT - A city man faces felony burglary charges and domestic violence charges after allegedly entering the home of his child's mother and hitting her during an argument.

Mychael Gamble, 39, is alleged by police to have entered a home on Cardinal Drive around 7:30 p.m. Monday while speaking to the mother of his son on the phone.

A Fremont Police report said the 37-year-old woman and mother of Gamble's son began to hear an echo on the phone and then realized the suspect was inside the house, according to a Fremont Police report.

The woman was in the second floor bedroom at the time when Gamble entered the room.

When she attempted to leave the room, Gamble blocked her and refused to let her go, the report said.

The woman began screaming for Gamble to let her out and when she tried to get past him, he pushed her back and struck her in the mouth, according to the report.

After the alleged violence, the woman told police she was pleading with Gamble to let her out, and even kissed him on the cheek in hopes he would calm down, because she was "frightened of what Mychael might do," the report said.

Gamble did walk back downstairs, where he unplugged her TV and said that he paid for it, but did not take it, before leaving the scene, the report said.

The two's 13-year-old son told police Gamble walked into the home before going upstairs.

He said he heard a commotion, but did not know what was happening.

When police arrived at the woman's home, they noticed swelling on her bottom lip and a small scratch under it. She also had a small scratch on the front of her neck, the report said.

Police located Gamble at his East State Street residence where he was taken into custody.  He denied assaulting the woman.
