Lunch for LuLu set for Sept. 28

FREMONT - Wendt Key Team Realty will host its annual Lunch for LuLu from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 28 in its parking lot at 1403 W. State St.

All proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Sandusky County Cancer Care in honor of the late Linda "LuLu" Key, one of the founders of Wendt Key Team Realty who died in 2011 after battle with cancer.

For a donation, drive through the parking lot on Sept. 28 and get a jumbo hot dog, condiments, a bag of chips and a bottle of water.

For a donation of $100, Wendt Key will deliver lunches, but they must be preordered by noon Sept. 27. Call 419-333-8326 or fax 419-333-9636.

Fremont school board calls special meeting

FREMONT - The Fremont City Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. Friday in Conference Room 126, at the district administration office, 500 W. State St., Suite A.

Ottawa County roads closed for paving

OAK HARBOR - The Ottawa County Engineers Office reported that two roads will be closed now through Friday for paving. Those are Kolb Road between Ohio 590 and Stange, and Billman Road between Trowbridge to Walbridge East.

Three other roads will have one-lane traffic during paving through Friday. Those include Moline-Martin Road between Graytown and Stange, Genoa- Clay Center between Ohio 579 and Curtice E/W, and Young Road between Fostoria and Billman.

Magruder fundraiser set for Sept. 27

PORT CLINTON - The Magruder Hospital Foundation will hold its Grapes & Grain benefit from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Catawba Island Club. There will be dinner stations with selected food pairing created by the CIC Chef.

Roundtable to learn about Confederate money

TIFFIN - "Confederate Money during the Civil War” will be the topic of speaker Bob Smithson of Lima for the Johnsons Island Civil War Roundtable.  The meeting is at 7 p.m. Sunday at TJ Willies, Tiffin.   Dinner for those who wish to come early is at 5:15 p.m.
