Video: Four laterals leads to craziest finish of 2018
Arkansas team's practice pays off with miracle victory.
They work on it every Thursday, and on Friday, the football players from
Charleston (Ark.) finally got to make practice perfect.
Down 19-14, and facing a fourth-and-four with four seconds left from the Ozark 38, the host Tigers (2-1) pulled off a wild hook-and-lateral-and-lateral-and-lateral-and-lateral play finished off with an 8-yard run by
Kaleb Fisher to pull out a 20-19 home victory.
Mason Keener delivered the final, perfect pitch.
Though the finish was utterly unpredictably, the wild celebration was not.
"That's something we've worked on for six years," Charleston coach Greg Kendrick told
swtimes.com. "We work it every Thursday, but it's the first time we've ever run it in a game. You never think it's going to work until it works."
Charleston coach Greg Kendrick had worked on the hook-and-lateral with his team for six years prior to unleashing it on Friday in a 20-19 win over Ozark.
