Chang, a sophomore, posted state qualifying times in the 200 freestyle (1:59.7) and the 100 breaststroke (1:08.68) in the Timberwolves’ first meet of the season a 106-64 win over Glacier Peak at WEST Coast Aquatics.
Taylor Nelson, forward, Monroe girls soccer
Nelson, a freshman, scored two goals — including the game-winner two minutes into the first overtime period — as the Bearcats beat Mount Vernon 2-1 in their Wesco 4A opener Tuesday.
Sophia Martino-Crew, forward/midfielder, Edmonds-Woodway girls soccer
Martino-Crew, a junior, scored two goals and added an assist as the Warriors throttled Marysville Pilchuck 6-0 in a Wesco 3A match.
MacKenzie Whyte, outside hitter, Snohomish volleyball
Whyte, a sophomore, tallied nine kills, five blocks and five service aces as the Panthers swept Archbishop Murphy in a Wesco 3A match.
Ava Mason, setter, King’s volleyball
Mason, a junior, dished out 19 assists and recorded 11 digs as the Knights notched their second sweep of a 4A school in as many matches.
