Veteran Marathi film actor Vijay Chavan breathed his last on Friday morning at the
Fortis Hospital, Mulund. He was
63. The star was admitted to the city hospital on Thursday, according to reports, due to prolonged illness.
He is best known for his character roles in Marathi films and plays like Jatra’, ‘
Zapatlela’, ‘Pachadlele’, ‘Mumbaicha Dabewala’, and ‘Shrimanta Damodar Panta’.
However, his most famous role was that of Mavshi from the play ‘Moruchi Mavshi’. The actor has worked in over 350 films both in Hindi and Marathi cinema and was recently conferred with the V Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award.
