It’s no secret that spending a fun day at the LA County Fair can be expensive – this year it will cost a family of four $59-$79 just to get in the door. But there are a number of deals on admission and parking, as well as some for carnival rides, shopping and even food.

Single Day and Carnival offer: Find single-day admission tickets for $12 for adults and $6 children 6-12 and $37 carnival ride wristband coupons now through Sept. 23 at participating Superior Grocers and Aug. 22-Sept. 23 at participating Vons and Albertsons markets. The wristband coupon must be redeemed at the carnival ticket booth Wednesday-Friday before 9 p.m. and is good until 11 p.m. On weekends and Labor Day it must be redeemed by 4 p.m. and is good until 7 p.m.

Wild Wednesdays: Purchase fair admission and a carnival wristband for $29 at participating O’Reilly Auto Parts and redeem them at the admission booth with your receipt Wednesdays. Or visit participating Sprint stores for a coupon good for admission and a carnival wristband for $29 at the admission booth, also on Wednesdays. Both offers good through Sept. 19.

Fresh Fun Thursday: Visit participating Subway restaurants through Sept. 20 and check your receipt for an offer for fair admission and a carnival ride wristband for $29 on Thursdays.

Costco: If you’re a Costco member, you can purchase 4 single-day admission tickets, a parking pass and 44 carnival ride and game tickets for $59.99 in-store or online at www.costco.com beginning Aug. 30.

Opening Day for Pomona residents: If you live Pomona you can get into the fair on opening day for $1 by purchasing your tickets online with the promo code POMONA by 11:59 p.m. Aug. 30.

City/Community Day Admission: Residents of select areas and cities may purchase admission tickets good on the day the location is honored at the fair for $6.60. Ticket purchases must be made online by 11:59 p.m. the day before for LA County Sept. 2, Inland Empire Sept. 3 and La Verne Sept. 19 and online by 11:59 p.m. the Tuesday before for Upland Sept. 6, San Dimas and El Monte Sept. 7, Glendora Sept 12, Diamond Bar and Claremont Sept. 13, Rowland Heights Sept. 14, Chino Sept. 19 and Ontario Sept. 20.

College Day: College students can visit the fair for $6.60 on Sept. 7 by printing out the online coupon and presenting it with a valid college student ID or business card.

Adult Labor Day Weekend: Passes are available online for adult admission Aug. 31-Sept. 3 for $20.

Week for Heroes: Active-duty and retired military, veterans and reserves and emergency responders may receive $2 single-day admission for themselves with ID, plus $2 admission for one guest Sept. 5-9. $1 from each admission will be donated to a local charity.

Season passes: There are two season pass options, a pass good Aug. 31-Sept 21 for $29.99 or one for the entire run of the fair for $49.99.

Passport to Savings Coupon Book: Spend $4 for this book which contains offers for more than $1,000 in savings on food, vendors and more, plus a free weekday admission ticket to return to the fair. It may be purchased at the booths near guest relations at each fair entrance or online.

Carnival Ride Wristband: You may enjoy one day of unlimited rides for $50. The wristband must be purchased at the carnival ticket booth Wednesday-Friday before 9 p.m. and is good until 11 p.m. and includes one carnival game. On weekends and Labor Day it must be purchased by 4 p.m., is good until 7 p.m. and includes two carnival games.

Parking pass: You may purchase a general parking pass for the season for $60.

$6.60 menu: In celebration of its Route 66 theme, a selection of food vendors will be offering special items and combinations for $6.60. Look for the California license plate displayed at the eateries during the fair or go online and click on “Save $$” to plan ahead.

LA County Fair

When: Noon-10 p.m. Wednesdays, noon-11 p.m. Thursdays, noon-midnight Fridays, 10 a.m.-midnight Saturdays and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sundays Aug. 31-Sept. 23, plus until midnight Sept. 2 and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sept. 3.
