Put the car keys away, get out your walking shoes and put the headlights on those bikes because Beach Streets is back with a nighttime version of the popular Long Beach event.

Beach Streets Twilight will take place from 5-10 p.m. Aug. 25 along Shoreline Drive in downtown Long Beach.

Modeled after the CicLAvia events in Los Angeles, streets are closed to motorized traffic and given over to  bicyclists, roller skaters and pedestrians during the Beach Streets events, which move around Long Beach and attract thousands of people at each stop.

The Shoreline Drive event also includes live music on two stages, food specials, light displays and free skate lessons for kids.

All of this will take place on a one-mile stretch of the street from Aquarium Way to South Linden Avenue.

If You Go:

When: 5-10 p.m. Aug. 25
