A hotel in New Orleans that was recently purchased by an interfaith organization will become a sanctuary for the homeless.Hotel Hope, a nonprofit interfaith organization, is providing emergency housing for homeless women and children after buying the Crescent Palms motel at 3923 Martin Luther King Blvd.Organizers said Hotel Hope will provide women and children with safe housing, case management and supportive services for the residents to become self-sufficient.The announcement comes five years after the nonprofit signed a long-term lease agreement with Blessed Trinity Parish for the former St. Mathias Convent.Hotel Hope will help the organization expand its ability to fulfill its mission, officials said.
