Galway manager Kevin Walsh admits that he doesn't know if he will be in the position next year.

There is no doubt that Walsh has his native county heading in the right direction in the last few years and guided them to a NFL 1 league final and All-Ireland SFC semi-final this year, losing both to Dublin.

They did recapture the Connacht title though and Walsh has a young squad at his disposal as the future looks bright for the Tribesmen.

However, the two-time All-Ireland winner is unsure who will be at the helm next year and stressed to the Connacht Tribune that there is a lot to consider before a decision can be made.

"I don't know who'll be here next year," stated Walsh. "It's a case of Galway closing the gap and end of year accounts.

"It's important that we are closing the gap on every other team and not just Dublin and we are getting better. It's a young team and if they really want to put the shoulder to the wheel, do the extra bits that are required, to catch up to Dublin.

"That's the question that everybody has to ask themselves and that applies to management and everyone else. County Boards really have to push the boat out to catch up with a team like Dublin."
