Information sought, reward offered in Newark assault

NEWARK - Licking County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest in a Newark assault.

According to Newark Police reports, at about 11:30 p.m. July 4, a teenage boy was walking over the bridge on the bike path near North 21 Street when he was approached by a black male and a white male who assaulted him and attempted to take his book bag.  

The suspects were dressed in all black clothing and wearing masks. The men were said to be between 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 5 feet, 11 inches tall. One weighed between 130 and 150 pounds while the other was said to have a "stocky" build.
