NEWARK - A Newark man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend Friday.

Jeremy D. Seiber, 33, of Newark, was arrested for attempted murder, an unclassified felony after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, Michelle Mullins, at the Glenbrook Apartments, on the 600 block of Glenbrook drive.

According to court records, Seiber and Mullins had an argument and went outside the apartment. Once outside, Seiber said "(Expletive) I'm killing you right here, right now."

Mullins' sister heard the commotion and came out of the apartment to find Seiber on top of Mullins and he was stabbing repeatedly, according to court records.

Mullins was flown by medical helicopter from the scene to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus, according to a release from the Newark Police Department.

Seiber fled the area and officers later responded to Essex Street on a call where a man claimed to have stabbed his girlfriend.

Police arrived and made contact with Seiber, who was the caller. Seiber was interviewed by detectives and subsequently arrested. He is being held at the Licking County Justice Center.

Licking County Common Pleas Magistrate Matthew George set Seiber's bond at $1 million Monday afternoon.

Mullins was interviewed by detectives at the hospital and said Seiber stabbed her multiple times because she did not want him to leave the home.
