CG officials provided the following narrative describing the company's origins:

"The story of Camp Gladiator began in 2007, when Ally Davidson tried out for the NBC show American Gladiators on her wedding day—four hours before the ceremony. Ally’s athleticism and spirit qualified her for the show, and the producers liked her story so much that they decided to do a couples episode, inviting both Ally and her husband, Jeff, to compete. After returning from their honeymoon, the couple spent four weeks in LA on a “Gladiator honeymoon,” competing on the show. Ally dominated the competition going on to win the Grand Championship, and the Davidsons used the winnings to start Camp Gladiator. Ally Davidson knew the fitness industry was missing something so she started CG with 40 campers with only cones in a parking lot. She has since utilized her extensive fitness experience and knowledge to create a life-long, accessible training program which has thousands of campers with positive testimonials.

"Since its humble beginning, Camp Gladiator has grown to over 80,000 campers with over 900 CG trainers across 350 cities. CG is present in over 3,500 locations with its largest followings in Texas cities: Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, and Fort Worth. In 2009, the company relocated its headquarters to Austin. Today, CG offers camp locations in Texas, Louisiana, Colorado, North Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee. In its tenth year, CG is entering new markets as its pattern of rapid growth continues. Most recently, the company announced plans to expand to Jacksonville, Florida, in January 2019."
