Police Calls | METRICH raid nets drugs, drug paraphernalia

900 block of Averill Ave., Mansfield -  Following a METRICH raid with the Richland County Sheriff's Office Wednesday night, evidence of drugs and drug paraphernalia were located. Two children were found living in the residence. Three people will have their charges forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor's Office, according to the police report.

100 block of West Second Street, Mansfield - Police Wednesday arrested a 48-year-old man on a charge of drunkenness after a witness said men stomped on him and struck him in the head. He was transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital and then jailed.

800 block of Delph Street, Mansfield - A man Wednesday told police someone stole wheels and tires from the back yard.

Kroger Market Place, 1240 Park Avenue West, Mansfield - An employee told police Wednesday a man was observed on camera walking out of the loading dock door with steaks.

100 block of Sturges Avenue, Mansfield - Police Wednesday issued a summons on a charge of marijuana to a 32-year-old woman after a traffic stop. She was found with marijuana in her purse.

100 block of South Main Street, Mansfield - A woman Wednesday contacted police to say she now lives in Georgia but that at some point in 2008 her sister stole her identity information and now she is getting calls about bills and accounts that she never opened. 

400 block of West Cook Road, Mansfield - A man Wednesday told police he found a First Aid box with marijuana in the bathroom of a residence he just purchased. The marijuana was collected and submitted to the crime lab.

600 block of Burns Street, Mansfield - A 39-year-old woman called police early Wednesday morning on her 17-year-old son because he "has been disrespectful and rude," and she "wants him to be a different person that what he is." Officers told her a report would be on file.

100 block of South Mulberry Street, Mansfield - A 30-year-old woman told police an unknown man came to her door Wednesday morning and asked to see a man who lives with her. The woman went upstairs to get her roommate, then came back down to find the unknown man and her cell phone both gone. Officers made a report.

First block of Wood Street, Mansfield - A 71-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman told police Wednesday that a 42-year-old woman who lives in the complex threatened one of their lives and vowed to fight both of them. They said she's been acting this way "the past few days." Officers found the alleged offender, who said "everyone at the complex has been harassing her," and that she "is attempting to make other living arrangements." Police told everyone a report would be on file.

Malabar Intermediate School, 205 W. Cook Road, Mansfield - A woman who works at Malabar Intermediate School told police Wednesday that children have lately been found on school property after curfew, that a BB gun was found at the school, that a screen had been ripped from a vent and that the cafeteria door was damaged from a brick that was thrown. Officers collected evidence and are investigating.
