Today marks one year since the opening of Disney Vacation Club’s fourteenth timeshare property.
One year ago today, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge welcomed its first guests.
Copper Creek’s opening followed an extensive multi-year renovation of the resort which also brought the Boulder Ridge Cove pool, Geyser Point Bar & Grill and, somewhat belatedly, the Reunion Station multipurpose space. More than 300 Wilderness Lodge hotel rooms were retrofitted to accommodate 184 Disney Vacation Club villas, while 26 Cascade Cabins were constructed along the resort’s shoreline.
Among the features unique to Copper Creek: it represents the first time DVC added a second condominium association to an existing resort. Back in 2000 the original Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge debuted at the resort. This original Wilderness Lodge tenant has since been renamed Boulder Ridge Villas and cabins.
