15u Licking County A’s win Buckeye Elite bracket

The 15u Licking County Athletics won four consecutive games over the weekend in the Buckeye Elite Showcase, capturing the consolation Silver Bracket title.

After going 1-2 in pool play, the 40th-seeded A’s defeated 49th seed Ironmen Midwest Black 6-5 and 41st-seeded Dublin Select 10-2 on Saturday. On Sunday at Dublin Scioto, they beat 44th seed Columbus Sharks 10-2 in the semifinals, and 46th-seeded Midland Arrowheads 11-5 in the championship game.

Against Columbus Sharks, Justin Snodgrass, Wes Myers, Ethan Adams, Josh Dillon and Nate Johnson all drove in runs during an eight-run third inning. Ryan Davis pitched a five-hitter for the win, striking out one and walking one.

In the title game, Snodgrass drove home six runs on a three-run double, walk and another double. Davis, Tanner Parsons and Snodgrass had RBI’s in a four-run sixth inning. He and Snodgrass each had two hits. Nick Mumford pitched four innings with four strikeouts to get the win.
