It’s finally summer and to celebrate the nice weather we’re going to see in North New Jersey, we have all the updates you need to know about for the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata!
Our fun roadster remains mostly the same as its 2018 counterpart, except there are a few new aspects you’ll enjoy. Not only are more readily available features and several design updates are offered, but the performance you can get is improved upon.
With that being said, let’s take a look at the updates for the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata.
Performance-Enhanced Convertible
You’ll find that the SKYACTIV®-G 2.0L engine under the hood of every 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata at our dealership serving Wayne NJ has been improved upon in terms of response, feel & efficiency. Firstly, the engine now produces 181 hp at 7,000 rpm, up 17% from the previous year, and 151 lb/ft of torque at 4,000 rpm.
In addition of a richer torque curve overall, the maximum rev range jumps up from 6,800 rpm to 7,500 rpm. Not only is there more power, you can also get greater gas savings thanks to the improved combustion via the revamped intake ports and high-diffusion & higher-pressure fuel injectors.
Additional updates made to give you a better drive consist of:
- Reduced internal mass & friction thanks to the reengineered pistons & connecting rods
- Low-inertia dual-mass flywheel for better smoothness & responsiveness
- 3.583 final drive ratio, going up from 3.454, on automatic-transmission models
- 30% exhaust loss reduction via the engine's increased valve opening angle & lift height and inner exhaust's increased manifold diameter
More Features Just For You
Another reason why the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata gives you even more is because the amenities that are more readily available. For starters, a new rear view camera now comes standard to help you parallel park around town & in more urban areas and back out of parking spots & driveways while giving you a live look at what’s behind you.
In addition, more i-ACTIVSENSE® safety technologies can be found throughout various trim levels.
