Trump adviser Jared Kushner and special envoy Jason Greenblatt met on Thursday with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Cairo and with Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Qatar to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
Sisi told the US diplomats, who are touring the region in a bid to revive long-stalled talks, that Egypt supports a “just and comprehensive settlement” to the conflict.
He argued in favor of a “two-state solution on the 1967 borders with east Jerusalem as the capital of the state of Palestine,” the presidency said in a statement.
