ROGERS, Ark. –  A professional golfer stepped off the course today to lend a hand to some four-legged friends in our area.

KNWA heard about LPGA golfer Cindy LaCrosse’s love for animals and we wanted to pair that with a need in our area – pets needing a forever home.

From the fairway to the felines.

As professional golfer Cindy LaCrosse travels the country playing in the LPGA tour, she makes an effort to stop at a local animal shelters to pay for all adoption fees for that day. .

“If I can help out just a little bit so then someone will say: ok, I can get that dog,” LaCrosse said. “I would love to just get one of them out of the shelter.”

While in Northwest Arkansas, LaCrosse chose the Rogers Humane Society for Animals.

“I hope that people see this and come and give these animals a chance because all they want is a family of their own,”LaCrosse said.

Lacrosse owns a rescue dog back home in Florida.

Although her time here in the natural state is limited, she hopes a new pet owner will walk away Wednesday with a new best friend, just like hers.

“Especially with golf being so up and down, it’s nice to come home to him and receive all that love and I want that for someone,” LaCrosse said.
