'Please spit in it too': Man horrified to find extra ingredient on burger receipt
A New York man said he was horrified and disgusted to find an extra ingredient on the receipt for his burger.Curtis Mays, of Sea Cliff, told WABC that when his meal was finished, he asked his server for a copy of his receipt. An image of the receipt shows normal specifications -- cheddar, well-done, mayo -- followed by "Please spit in it too.""I ate my burger already. I felt like I was gonna throw up," Mays said. "I asked her 'Why would you do this?' And she couldn't explain it. She said she didn't do it, so I was like 'Who prints out the receipt?' So she said, 'I take it up there and print it myself. So you did it? Why are you lying about it?'"To make matters worse, Mays said the meal at Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden was a celebration of Father's Day with his daughter and granddaughter. He said he was surprised because the server was very friendly at the beginning. Mays got a refund and the server was swiftly fired. "(The manager) was saying, 'How can we compensate you?' I was like, 'How can you compensate somebody for spitting on your food? I ate this already,'" Mays said. The manager assured him that it was unlikely the cook actually spit in the burger. The Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden has an A rating from the Department of Health.
