BUCYRUS - The Humane Society serving Crawford County is seeking donations of beds for their pets.

The shelter is hoping to have 10 cat beds and 20 dog beds donated. Trisha Tackett, the cat ward supervisor at the shelter, said the dog beds are the priority out of the two.

"Our beds are kind of falling apart," she said.

Tackett said a few of the current beds have been repaired, but it isn't enough. The Kuranda beds the shelter is requesting are built to withstand the rigors of kennels.

Tackett said that several of the dogs who have the beds appear to like them; the beds help make pets' stays more comfortable.

"I think it's a great idea when all of the dogs have beds," said Deidra Taylor, office manager for the shelter.

The Humane Society is asking for three different sizes of beds, priced at $64 for the smallest, $69 for a medium-size bed and $74 for the largest size.

Interested donors can visit the Humane Society Serving Crawford County's website and Facebook page, where a link will be posted to the shelter's donation page on the Kuranda bed website.

Donors can chose the bed they wish to donate and then have it shipped to the shelter.
