Mike McCormick and Aaron Smeltzer are being honored at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.Their pictures have been on display for the past week as part of a temporary obituary at the journalists memorial, which recognizes men and women who were killed while reporting the news.The names of 18 journalists will be added to the memorial to represent 46 journalists who died in pursuit of the news in 2017. Aaron and Mike's names will be considered next year. WYFF News 4 anchor Mike McCormick and WYFF News 4 photojournalist Aaron Smeltzer died when a tree fell on their news vehicle while they were covering a weather-related story in North Carolina.
