Jackson | Softball

Pennington, a junior, allowed just three runs and struck out 52 batters in four Class 4A state-tournament games — including a no-hitter in a 6-0 victory over Camas in the semifinals — as the Timberwolves captured their first state title.

Tanner Boe

Mountlake Terrace | Baseball

Boe, a senior, struck out 10 batters in 51⁄3 innings to lead the Hawks to 7-3 victory over West Valley-Spokane on Friday in the semifinals of the Class 2A state tournament.

Alvin Kwak

Kamiak | Boys Golf

Kwak, a junior, shot back-to-back rounds of even-par 72 to tie for fifth at the Class 4A state golf tournament at Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick — the third top-10 finish of his prep career.

Kolby Heggenes

South Whidbey | Girls Golf

Heggenes, a senior, shot rounds of 74 and 76 to place third at the Class 1A/2B/1B state tournament at Hangman Valley Golf Course in Spokane.

Daniel Arias

Jackson | Boys Track and Field

Arias, a senior, won the 400-meter dash Saturday at the Class 4A state championships in Tacoma. He first-place time was 49.02 seconds.

Hannah Hicks

Edmonds-Woodway | Girls Track and Field

Hicks, a senior, won the long jump at the Class 3A state championships Friday in Tacoma. Hicks cleared 17 feet, 9.75 inches on her last attempt to edge runner-up Chloe Cunliffe of West Seattle by a half-inch.

Mary Zisette and Alison Papritz

South Whidbey | Girls Tennis

The doubles team of Zisette and Papritz placed second at the Class 1B/2B/1A state tournament, tops among local players this season.

Yevgeniy Kolomiyets

Cascade | Boys Tennis

Kolomiyets, a senior, was the top finisher among Snohomish County boys at this past weekend’s state tennis tournaments. He placed eighth in the Class 4A tourney
