Police calls: Man threatens to pistol whip woman

North Franklin Street, Mansfield - Police Friday  issued a summons on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia to a 30-year-old woman following a traffic stop. A burnt spoon, two metal pipes and suspected heroin were found in the woman's purse. The woman signed a grand jury waiver for the possession of suspected heroin.

100 block of North Main Street, Mansfield - Police Friday arrested a 58-year-old man after he was observed in an alley with his pants down, exposing his private parts. He was taken to jail on summonses of drunkenness and public indecency. He said he had "a lot" of beers and "had to go."

300 block of Jennings Avenue, Mansfield - A woman told police she went over to visit with a man Friday and he started to question her over social media posts. He started to yell at her and then grabbed her and then started to throw her into walls. She said he then pulled a handgun on her and threatened to pistol whip her or shoot her. She was able to flee and came to the police department. He told her if she sends anyone over to his residence that he will kill them.

100 block of Sycamore Street, Mansfield -  A woman told police Friday her front license plates fell off her vehicle. She requested a report be on file.

500 block of Lawn Avenue, Mansfield - A man Friday told police while he was lying in bed he heard a car alarm going off. He said he ran outside and chased after an unknown man but could not locate him. He said property was stolen from the vehicle. 

100 block of Crouse Street, Mansfield - A woman told police Friday her daughter, 16, failed to return home.

400 block of West Straub Road, Mansfield - A woman told police Saturday a man threw her grill over in the yard in an attempt to hit her with it. He threatened to kill her and her son. Police could not locate him because he fled. A short time later police returned to the site and saw that he had returned to the residence and the victim allowed him back inside. Officers made numerous attempts to re-contact the woman and the suspect by knocking on the door. The victim could be seen through a window to have turned the lights off and she stood behind the door that officers were knocking on, refusing to answer it.

West Second Street, Mansfield - A woman told police her roommate physically assaulted her by pushing her to the ground. She went to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital and police soon learned the whereabouts of the man who had a large, open wound on his left leg. He was taken to the hospital by squad and was issued two summonses on charges of assault and drunkenness. Both remained in the care of hospital personnel pending an evaluation.

Kroger Fuel Station, 1500 Lexington Ave., Mansfield - A man told police someone paid for gasoline with a counterfeit $20. The money was seized and turned into the crime lab.

600 block of King Street, Mansfield - A woman told police Friday someone busted a window at her apartment while she was not at home.

500 block of Dyas Drive, Mansfield - A man told police Friday a man showed up at this residence demanding $1,200. A physical fight began after the suspect took an aggressive stance toward the victim. The victim said he grabbed a crowbar and began hitting the man in the back to make him leave. The suspect left after suffering an injury. After the incident, the victim said the man has been sending him threatening text messages.
