BUCYRUS -  A Bucyrus man has been indicted by a Crawford County grand jury in connection with a late February crash that killed a Galion resident.

Cory L. Pierce, 49, of Bucyrus, was indicted on two counts of first-degree aggravated vehicular homicide, one misdemeanor count of intimidation of a witness and one misdemeanor count of operating a vehicle impaired. Pierce is being held on a $200,000 bond.

On Feb. 28, 56-year-old Lyle Roberts of Galion, was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Ohio 19 east of Ohio 100 in Whetstone Township, according to a sheriff's department press release. Robert's passenger and Pierce were injured in the crash.

According to the news release, preliminary investigation indicated Pierce was traveling westbound on Ohio 19 in a black 1999 Chevy truck when the vehicle went left of center and struck a 1999 Saturn driven by Roberts.

Crawford County Prosecutor Matt Crall said the indictment alleges Pierce was driving on Ohio 19 south of Bucyrus when he started driving left of center.
