Ridgewood Schools BOE Notes

WEST LAFAYETTE - Ridgewood Locals Schools Board of Education met in regular session to conduct routine business of the district on May 14.

Commendations were given to Amber Mourer for receiving the Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award, Kenny Lott for placing first in state culinary arts competition and Jarrett Brenneman, Keith Claxon, Justin Conner, Sophia Kobel and Alexis Prater for graduating from the Coshocton County Youth Leadership Program.

The eighth grade class will be taking a trip May 21 to 23 to Washington D.C. Leslie Vesh and Batelle donated $170 to the drama department. The district is accepting bids for a window replacement project at the elementary school. A professional development day for staff on trauma informed schools will be from 9 a.m. to noon May 24. A Cardinal Blue Bird 72-passenger bus will be purchased through the OMERESA bidding process.

Thad Youngen and Ashley Bourne will resign from the district Aug. 15. Robin Hire will be on unpaid leave next school year. Several supplemental contracts and volunteers for next school year were approved. Several classified and certified staff contracts were approved for individual number of years. Carol Wears and Jerold Ball will serve as athletic workers for next school year. Shirley Smith and Patti Rohr will be district website coordinators for next school year. Casey Bethel, Josey Lillibridge, Bryce Hains, Keith Leindecker, Trent Harrison, Eliza Haynes and Jarett Slusser will serve as summer workers.

The next board meeting will be at 7 a.m. June 15 at the administration building, 301 S. Oak St.
