I have recently had the front seats recovered and upon re-installing them and incorrectly connecting one of the electrical connectors I found that the seat heater was permanently on. Once I connected them correctly nether the drivers or passenger heaters were working.
To be honest I had forgotten it had seat heaters as there is no need for them in California. Nether the less I would like for them to work correctly. Unfortunately my repair manual which has a supplement covering the later cars does not have an electrical schematic. There is reference to a jaguar service manual JJM 10 04 06/02and the relevant model year ‘“Electrical Guide. I have searched the internet but cannot find a copy. So if any member can help it would be appreciated. The problem could be the heater controller DAC 6985 but it is funny that both of them have failed at the the same time. Maybe somebody has knowledge of their reliability. I have seen used ones for sale but no new ones.
Thanks

Thanks Richard,
Now I have a much better idea how the system should work. What I have found is that there is no locate lighting power. I suspect there is a relay that feeds the locate lighting circuit. Does your manual show where the power originates.

Hi Richard,
Thanks to your schematics I have better understanding how the system works but unfortunately most of the info on the fig 17 data is unreadable. Some I can guess however I need to know the voltage applied the LED. I am only getting just over 1volt dc. I suspect it should be significantly higher but less than 12 volts.
Could you please repost that page either larger or with better resolution.
Thank you.
