Registry: 1971 Morris Minor 1000 Van
Rob van den Beld's 1971 Morris Minor 1000 Van
|
Original registration mark AJU 54 K (UK)
When I bought this car in the UK, I thought it was in good shape. It looked pretty good, because it had a respray 2 years before.
When I was at home with this car the technical condition appeared to be no so good, so with a Morris Minor specialist we did a lot of technical work:
Reconditioned engine (Charles Ware, Bristol, UK). Positive earth changed to negative earth. Alternator, Breaksystem completely renewed. New gearbox bearrings. New wheel bearrings. Steering changed from RHD to LHD. New springassembly. New rubbers frontaxle. New rubbers: frontwindow and doors. New trim in cabin. Inclinable chairs (Volvo; old chairs available). Temperature gage.
Radio/cd-player. 2 Foglamps on bumper. Noise and heat isolation.
Wheel rims sandblasted and new paint; 5 new tyres. 4 mirrors outside.
Since restauration I drove withe the car 6450 km (4005 mls) and I drive several times a week, so when te car is sold, there will be more on the counter.
About 4 years ago the car had a respray to white (not bear metal) with handpainted commercials.
