Curtis and Jones represent APL at 2018 PAA

Katherine Curtis and Malia Jones served as discussants and presenters in several sessions of this year's Population Association of American meeting. Their research covered wide-ranging topics from spatial methods, to political demography and the population impacts of climate change.

APL reporting awarded gold at Milwaukee Press Club

The Milwaukee Press Club awarded a gold medal to APL and WisContext staff for their coverage of the Wisconsin Gerrymandering case before the U.S. Supreme Court. In advance of the SCOTUS decision, McKown and Jones debuted an interactive political geography map allowing users to examine the distribution of voters within state assembly districts.

Projecting WI High School Graduates

At this year’s WISCAPE summit, Sarah Kemp shared APL research into historic and projected changes in the composition of Wisconsin’s high school graduates. The conference focused on opportunities and challenges in educating an increasingly diverse Wisconsin.

Donald R. Field, emeritus professor and former CALS leader, dies at 78

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Don Field – a colleague, mentor and friend to many in the APL. Our collaborations with Don were very rewarding and his perspectives on social ecology were enormously influential. His legacy and spirit will live on here in the APL.
