The Nottingham Hoods are exceptionally proud and grateful to be awarded the Best Game Day Experience in the 2017/18 Basketball England NBL Awards.Since being founded in 2009, the Hoods have always been a fully inclusive club and have strived to make match days a real family event, more than just about the game of basketball.
Nicknamed the Merry Men, the Hoods crowd have been treated to street dancers, cheerleaders, dance troops and breakdancers over the years, but with the introduction of Hoodie – the mascot – this year, the match day experience has taken on a new dimension.
Hoodie has been entertaining the sell out crowds week after week, with dance offs, high 5 challenges and cheeky shenanigans throughout the game.
GM, Lee English commented, “this is a great honour for the club and I’m really pleased to receive it. Our game days are genuinely so much fun to host. Our Merry Men are really engaged with the club and get involved in all the crazy games and activities. It’s a pleasure to have so many families here and for the games to be a fun day out with the kids. I don’t think many will forget the biggest “dab” in Nottingham!
