Pete Rose's estranged wife alleges he's still gambling with his $1M annual income

Despite being banned by Major League Baseball, Pete Rose was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame in 2016.

Pete Rose's estranged wife alleged baseball's all-time hits champion remains a "high stake gambler" and has repeatedly failed to pay support on time, according to documents reviewed by USA TODAY Sports.

Rose's second wife, Carol, made the allegations in a filing last week in Los Angeles Superior Court as part of a divorce case that began in 2011.

In her efforts to get the case settled, Carol Rose claims her estranged husband makes more than $1 million per year, primarily from endorsements and autograph signings. She asked the court to clarify his financial situation so a settlement can be finalized.

In the filing first reported by TMZ, Carol Rose also alleged the banned baseball star continues to wager large sums of money and owes large sums of money to casinos and the Internal Revenue Service.

Pete Rose, in a filing in March, accused his estranged wife of being "unreasonable." Rose claims they separated in 2009, around the same time he proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Kiana Kim.

"The petitioner (Pete Rose) is 77 years old and maintaining the status quo is causing both parties emotional strain and pressure," Pete Rose's attorney wrote.

Rose received a lifetime ban in 1989 after an investigation determined he had bet on MLB games while manager of the Cincinnati Reds. All of his appeals for reinstatement since then have been denied.
