MIAMI — Newlink, the Miami firm serving Latin America, has acquired Spanish agency Globally Eventos y Comunicación, the first step in the firm’s expansion into Europe.

The acquisition puts 300 employees and 200 clients under the Newlink umbrella, which spans the US, Latin America and now Spain. In Spain, the joint venture will operate as Newlink Consulting and Communications Spain.

In announcing the deal, Newlink said the merger will enhance the range and scope of the agencies’ offerings. Newlink will provide Globally with its proprietary methodology, called Orbital Thinking, which is based on the idea that having a shared purpose is key to rallying stakeholders around goals. Globally offers Newlink the opportunity to extend beyond Latin America and the US, in addition to adding a beauty and fashion expertise.

Globally’s founding partners, Carlos Serantes and Olivier Vallecillo, will lead Newlink Spain. María de la Puerta, an executive partner, will oversee the fashion & beauty practice, while Susana López, also an executive partner, will lead operations in Barcelona.

“There’s no better option than Globally to break into the Spanish market,” said Sergio Roitberg, Newlink’s founder and CEO. “Globally’s seamless integration and adoption of our methodologies, combined with their solid team of experts, strong leadership and more than 20 years of in-market experience, affirmed this was the right time and the right match for Newlink.
